Test Engineer with German

We are seeking a Test Engineer with German language proficiency to support the introduction and rollout of a unified editorial system for creating and maintaining operating regulations and route books. The person in this role will contribute to assuring software quality across a growing and evolving application landscape through structured testing activities and close collaboration with project teams operating in a Kanban environment. The primary focus is on designing and executing software tests, identifying and tracking defects, maintaining test documentation, and supporting quality assurance efforts throughout the software delivery lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyse business test cases and test scenarios for complex systems in collaboration with project teams.
  • Execute structured software tests, including functional and non-functional testing activities.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of test plans to ensure alignment with business and product requirements.
  • Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
  • Prepare, verify, and maintain defect reports and support defect lifecycle management.
  • Analyse test results, identify defects, and track issues through to resolution.
  • Assist developers during defect investigation and root-cause analysis.
  • Conduct end-to-end (E2E) tests across integrated systems and interface landscapes.
  • Create test cases based on business requirements, specifications, and agile user stories.
  • Support quality assurance activities related to user experience and accessibility requirements.
  • Contribute to test automation activities, with a focus on Robot Framework where applicable.
  • Support the creation and execution of technical tests as required.
  • Participate in testing-related planning, estimation, and coordination activities.
  • Use test management and defect management tools such as xRay to manage test execution and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in functional software testing and end-to-end testing in complex system landscapes with multiple interfaces.
  • Proven ability to create test cases based on requirements documents (waterfall) and user stories (agile).
  • Experience analysing existing applications and creating test cases within reengineering or transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of test management tools such as xRay and related defect management processes.
  • Familiarity with testing methodologies, modelling techniques, and testing process frameworks.
  • Knowledge of test automation approaches; practical experience with Robot Framework is an advantage.
  • Experience working in agile software development environments (SCRUM / scaled agile).
  • ISTQB Foundation Level certification is desirable.
  • German language proficiency at C1/C2 level.
