API Integration Developer

API Integration Developer will design, implement and maintain integration services and APIs for a project that transforms the digital business domain. The role involves delivering integrations between systems within a microservices architecture, applying CI/CD automation, operating in Kubernetes environments, and ensuring quality, security and performance of services.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test and maintain integration flows and APIs in accordance with requirements and the Definition of Done.
  • Participate actively in technical decision-making related to integration and API implementation, ensuring alignment with architectural standards.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet quality, security, availability and performance requirements; diagnose incidents and address root causes.
  • Collaborate with architects, analysts, Product Owners and project teams to refine requirements and agree on solutions.
  • Contribute to estimation, sprint planning and assessment of technical risks.
  • Support team members with technical problem solving and share best practices.
  • Regularly participate in code reviews and help evolve coding standards and automation in software delivery.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of commercial experience developing applications in Java, including practical work with Java 21+ and Spring Boot; experience with Spring Cloud and Hibernate is a plus.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing inter-system integrations and APIs using REST, JSON, OpenAPI, OAuth 2.0 and JWT; familiarity with SOAP and XML.
  • Experience building asynchronous integrations using Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ or other message brokers.
  • Experience with API Management platforms for publishing and securing APIs.
  • Experience developing solutions in a microservices architecture and deploying them to Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools, particularly Bamboo or Jenkins, and with Git/Bitbucket; practical experience automating deployments and working with Jira.
  • Experience writing unit tests and using Java testing frameworks.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL or Oracle databases, including creating and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in projects, resolve technical problems and make technical decisions.
