Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, support and maintain scalable, reliable data solutions that enable timely, data-driven decision-making across the organisation. The person in this role will own data pipelines, integrations and analytics tooling — including Snowflake and Power BI. The role will combine maintenance of existing integrations with forward-looking adoption of AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery and improve data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, support and maintain scalable and secure data pipelines and integrations across the organisation’s data estate.
  • Develop and maintain data models, ETL/ELT pipelines and analytics solutions using Snowflake, Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI, and related tooling.
  • Take accountability for the quality, performance and operational support of delivered data solutions, including legacy integrations.
  • Champion effective and responsible use of AI-assisted tooling (for example GitHub Copilot, Claude) to enhance development speed, quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Development, Cloud and Security engineering teams to ensure data solutions are architected, delivered and operated securely and reliably.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues related to data quality, performance and integration failures across modern and legacy platforms.
  • Maintain and support existing legacy data integrations, ensuring continuity of service while planning and executing modernisation where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports and self-service analytics capabilities in Power BI for business stakeholders.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand data and reporting requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Adopt and promote a security-first approach in the design and development of data solutions, ensuring compliance with governance, privacy and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the definition and evolution of data architecture, standards and best practices across the organisation.
  • Provide accurate estimates of time and effort required for data engineering tasks and projects, and support capacity planning.
  • Partner with Cloud and Development teams to ensure data platforms scale effectively within the cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in data engineering, data warehousing or business intelligence roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake or an equivalent cloud data warehouse platform.
  • Proven experience with Power BI, including data modelling, DAX and report/dashboard development.
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations, including work with legacy systems.
  • Practical experience using AI-assisted tooling to improve data engineering delivery.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with data modelling approaches, including dimensional modelling and star schemas.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and cloud-native data services.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality and data security principles.
  • Experience collaborating with Development, Cloud and Security engineering teams in cross-functional contexts.
  • Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics is desirable.
  • Fluent English.

Benefits

  • Significant influence over planning of own work, selection of tools and proposals for architectural improvements.
  • Opportunity to work on innovative projects that incorporate AI and process automation.
  • Collaborative, engineering-focused environment with cross-functional engagement across Development, Cloud and Security teams.
  • Professional development opportunities relevant to data engineering, cloud platforms and analytics tooling.
  • Remote work arrangement & long-term cooperation.
  • Professional development opportunities and collaboration with experienced engineering teams.
  • Activities to support your well-being and health.
  • Luxmed Gold Extended medical care and Multisport Plus benefit.
