Senior/Expert Data Business Analyst

Job Overview

We are hiring a Senior/Expert Data Business Analyst to join a cross-functional analytics initiative focused on the Parts and Accessories business. The person in this role will bridge business stakeholders, Product Management, Master Data/MDM and Analytics/BI to ensure business rules, data requirements and data quality are defined, validated and ready for technical implementation. 

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements, use cases and business rules in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Translate business rules into clear, actionable data requirements for analytics and engineering teams.
  • Identify the data attributes required to support compatibility and recommendation logic and map these attributes to source systems.
  • Profile and assess data availability, completeness, consistency and quality using hands-on analysis.
  • Identify data gaps, root causes, dependencies and risks; propose and prioritise remediation actions.
  • Coordinate data correction, enrichment and remediation activities with Product Management, MDM and source-system owners.
  • Validate that data is fit for purpose prior to BI implementation and support testing cycles.
  • Support sustainable data governance by defining ownership, common definitions, quality standards and stewardship processes.
  • Coordinate stakeholders to maintain visibility of priorities, risks, decisions and delivery milestones.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years (Senior) or 10 years (Expert) of practical experience as a Data Business Analyst, Data Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into precise data requirements and business rules.
  • Hands-on experience with data profiling and analysis, ideally using SQL and Excel / Power Query.
  • Experience working with master data, product data and data quality within PIM/MDM environments.
  • Solid understanding of data governance topics, including ownership, definitions, quality rules and stewardship.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experience coordinating business and IT stakeholders without formal authority.
  • Excellent documentation, analytical thinking and communication skills.
  • Fluent English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with STEP and/or Stibo Systems.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake or Databricks.
  • Knowledge of aftermarket, spare parts or Parts \u0026 Accessories domains.
  • Experience with product compatibility or installed-base data.
  • Previous collaboration with Power BI or BI development teams.
  • Exposure to recommendation engines or advanced analytics models.
