We are seeking a Senior AI Engineer to design and implement applications that leverage large language models. The person in this role will combine traditional software development practices with practical application of generative AI techniques to create robust, production-ready solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement applications using TypeScript and/or Python.
- Develop and maintain backend services primarily with Node.js.
- Integrate large language models (LLMs) via APIs and manage their lifecycle within applications.
- Compose, test and optimize prompts to improve model outputs (prompt engineering).
- Build agentic AI components capable of executing multi-step or complex tasks; contribute to agent design and orchestration.
- Integrate AI-driven features with databases, third-party APIs and internal systems.
- Deploy applications to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and ensure they meet operational requirements.
- Establish testing, monitoring and performance-optimization practices for AI-enabled systems.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional programming experience, preferably in backend or full-stack roles.
- 2+ years of experience with GenAI/LLM Engineering.
- Practical experience with Node.js and Python in production environments.
- Direct experience integrating LLMs through APIs and applying prompt engineering techniques.
- Familiarity with building or participating in projects that include agentic AI; prior involvement in at least one such project is required.
- Nice to have: Experience with cloud deployment and operations on at least one major provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, observability and performance tuning.
- Relevant roles that commonly match this profile include Backend Developer (Node.js/Python), AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer with a generative AI focus, or LLM Engineer.
