Senior Business Analyst – Regulatory Reporting

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Business Analyst – Regulatory Reporting to support the design and delivery of robust, compliant and efficient regulatory reporting solutions. The person in this role will apply extensive experience in banking regulatory reporting, business analysis and data requirements engineering to translate complex regulatory expectations into clear business, functional and data specifications. The role requires collaboration across Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Data and IT stakeholders and a proactive, results-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse and implement new business and regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring alignment with supervisory expectations.
  • Translate regulatory requirements into clear business, functional and data requirements, including validation logic and report definitions.
  • Perform detailed business process analysis and modelling to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive automation of manual and file-based reporting processes and identify opportunities to reduce manual adjustments.
  • Analyse financial datasets, reporting rules and data flows to support accurate and consistent reporting outputs.
  • Support ECB remediation initiatives and similar regulatory programmes as required.
  • Work closely with Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Data and IT stakeholders to define requirements, prioritise work and support delivery activities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of sustainable, compliant and auditable regulatory reporting solutions.
  • Provide leadership in requirements engineering, stakeholder communication and issue resolution within cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of relevant experience with clearly demonstrated senior-level responsibilities in regulatory reporting or related functions.
  • Strong hands-on experience in banking regulatory reporting and deep understanding of banking products, financial data, systems and processes.
  • Extensive experience in Business Analysis and Requirements Engineering, including business process modelling.
  • Proven ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear business and data requirements and to interpret validation logic and supervisory expectations.
  • Ability to analyse complex datasets and statistical information and convert them into actionable business insights.
  • Solid understanding of Data Literacy principles, Data Warehouse and reporting concepts.
  • Strong SQL skills and practical experience with reporting and data extraction.
  • Good understanding of software development processes and methodologies; extensive practical experience with Jira and Confluence.
  • Proven track record working in Agile environments and in cross-functional teams across business, data and IT.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and communication skills; proactive, independent and results-oriented mindset.
  • Fluent professional English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Desirable: experience with BCBS 239, ECB remediation initiatives, banking or finance transformation programmes, or prior experience in Baltic banks.
