MarTech Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled MarTech Developer to join our digital team. The person in this role will serve as the primary technical expert responsible for the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our customer data and engagement infrastructure. This position acts as a critical liaison between Marketing and Engineering teams, ensuring precise data capture through Twilio Segment and seamless execution of personalized customer journeys via Braze. 

Responsibilities

  • Segment Implementation and SDK Management:
  • Lead the hands-on integration of Segment Analytics.js for web and mobile SDKs (iOS, Android, React Native).
  • Collaborate with Product Engineers to design efficient event tracking (\Track,\ \Identify,\ and \Group\ calls) aligned with global data schemas.
  • Troubleshoot event and identity stitching issues using browser developer tools and proxy utilities. Configure and maintain Segment Destinations, ensuring accurate data flow to Braze and data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
  • Braze Development and Personalization:
  • Develop advanced Liquid scripting to enable dynamic content across emails, push notifications, and in-app messaging.
  • Implement Connected Content integrations to retrieve real-time data from internal APIs, such as inventory levels or loyalty balances.
  • Construct and validate multi-step, branching customer journeys (\Canvases\ that respond dynamically to Segment events. Perform thorough end-to-end technical quality assurance to guarantee flawless user experiences across all platforms.
  • Data Hygiene and Web/Mobile Technology:
  • Apply knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+), HTML, and CSS to support web tracking and customized in-app message styling.
  • Manage mobile-specific elements including push token administration, deep link integration (Universal Links/App Links), and app lifecycle event tracking within the Segment and Braze environment.
  • Conduct regular audits of the Segment Tracking Plan to eliminate obsolete events and maintain data integrity.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of practical experience working as a power user or developer with Twilio Segment and Braze platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and SQL, with the ability to read, write, and debug code related to SDKs and event tracking.
  • Comprehensive understanding of web fundamentals, including Document Object Model (DOM) operations, mobile app background processes, and API communication protocols (REST/JSON).
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering pixel-perfect implementations. Awareness that even minor technical errors can impact brand reputation.
  • Experience within Retail or E-commerce sectors is highly desirable, particularly with platforms such as Shopify, Salesforce, or Magento.
