Senior Java Developer (hybrid from Wrocław or Cracow)

Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Java Developer (hybrid from Wrocław or Cracow) to join a banking-sector team responsible for taking over tasks from another vendor, developing new functionalities and maintaining a production application. This role is based in an office in Wrocław or Kraków with a minimum of three days per week on-site. The person in this role will work with Java, Spring, relational databases, a Key-Value store such as Redis, and TypeScript with React for full-stack collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Take over and smoothly transition tasks and codebases from an external vendor, ensuring continuity and quality.
  • Design, implement and deliver new backend features using Java and Spring (Core, Boot).
  • Maintain and enhance existing application functionality, including bug fixes, performance tuning and refactoring.
  • Work with relational databases (design, queries, optimizations) and integrate Key-Value stores such as Redis.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers using TypeScript and React to deliver end-to-end features and APIs.
  • Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback and follow team development practices.
  • Contribute to architectural decisions, documentation and cross-team knowledge transfer.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with Java and Spring Framework (including Spring Boot) in production systems.
  • Practical knowledge of one or more relational databases (design, SQL, performance tuning).
  • Experience with Redis or another Key-Value store in a production context.
  • Familiarity with TypeScript and React to collaborate effectively on full-stack delivery.
  • Track record of taking over existing codebases and delivering stable transitions from other vendors or teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to quality and experience with testing and CI/CD practices.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid, cross-functional team.
