We are seeking an experienced Drupal Engineer to contribute to a large‑scale replatforming programme spanning three international brands and six language versions. The person in this role will combine hands‑on development with active participation in solution design, technical analysis and architecture discussions to deliver modern, scalable Drupal‑based e‑commerce platforms in collaboration with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop, optimise and maintain Drupal 11 solutions, ensuring adherence to established technical standards.
- Participate in business and technical analysis workshops to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Contribute to architecture design and technical decision‑making, assessing feasibility, performance, scalability and security.
- Design and implement custom Drupal modules and new functionality aligned with product requirements.
- Integrate Drupal with external systems and services, including product information management and third‑party APIs.
- Write clean, maintainable and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Conduct and participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
- Troubleshoot, debug and resolve technical issues across development, staging and production environments.
- Work with frontend teams to integrate Drupal with modern frontend frameworks and deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum four years of commercial experience with Drupal.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Drupal 10 and exposure to Drupal 11.
- Comprehensive understanding of Drupal CMS, including custom module development, site building and theming.
- Experience with Drupal upgrades, patching, release management and maintenance processes.
- Experience in product data architecture in Drupal and integration with Akeneo or similar PIM systems.
- Strong PHP development skills and familiarity with PostgreSQL, including performance optimisation techniques for Drupal deployments.
- Practical experience with REST APIs / OpenAPI and data exchange formats such as JSON and XML.
- Experience integrating Drupal with frontend frameworks (e.g., React or Angular).
- Experience working in cloud environments (AWS or Azure) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker and GitLab.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in technical discussions and architecture workshops and to take ownership of technical solutions.
