We are seeking a Senior Backend Kotlin Engineer to join a technical team responsible for designing and delivering resilient backend services. The person in this role will apply extensive backend development and architecture experience to rapidly understand product and domain contexts, contribute to solution design, and deliver production-quality services.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend systems and microservices using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
- Architect and deliver RESTful APIs that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and other engineering teams to clarify requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, promoting best practices in code quality, testing, and deployment.
- Work proactively to progress work when requirements are incomplete or evolving, taking ownership of tasks and outcomes.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development and participate in DevOps practices to streamline deployments and operations.
- Engage in code reviews, design reviews, and technical discussions to ensure maintainable and extensible solutions.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in backend development and architecture.
- Proven experience as a Backend Developer or Architect with the ability to quickly understand a product and domain and begin contributing effectively.
- Demonstrated experience with Kotlin and Spring Boot (both required).
- Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps practices; experience with infrastructure and Kubernetes is a strong advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Fluent English.
