Senior Analyst (from banking sector)

We are seeking a Senior Analyst to join the downstream team within a Core Banking programme. The programme aims to replace legacy local systems with core banking platform. The person in this role will gather and document requirements from business stakeholders and convert them into features and user stories, driving them through to handover to development teams. The role requires the ability to operate independently in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders and dependencies, and to onboard quickly to the programme.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyse and validate business requirements from stakeholders across functions.
  • Document requirements as features, epics or user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Manage the end-to-end requirements lifecycle from elicitation to handover to developers.
  • Coordinate with product owners, developers, architects and testing teams to ensure alignment and traceability.
  • Identify and manage dependencies, risks and impacts to ensure successful delivery.
  • Work effectively in an agile environment and contribute to sprint planning, refinement and demos.
  • Rapidly assimilate domain and system knowledge within a complex technical and organisational landscape.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on statements and reporting in banking contexts.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience within the banking sector.
  • 5–10 years’ experience working as a senior Business Analyst and/or senior IT Analyst.
  • Proven professional knowledge of banking statements and reporting.
  • Demonstrable experience collecting and managing requirements and producing clear user stories/features.
  • Ability to work independently and to drive complex requirements through to delivery.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in large cross-functional.
  • Experience with Hadoop is an advantage but not mandatory.
