Product Manager

The Product Manager is accountable for the end-to-end lifecycle of the IT product Clinical Diagnostic from strategy and roadmap definition through delivery, adoption, operation, and continuous improvement. This product is the primary Laboratory Information Management System for the Clinical Diagnostics business and supports additional global activities. The person in this role represents the voice of the business and users, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, compliance, and cost efficiency. 

Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Vision
    • Define and maintain the product vision, objectives, and value proposition.
    • Translate business strategy into a clear and actionable product roadmap.
    • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and regulatory compliance requirements.
    • Own product success metrics, including value delivered, adoption, user satisfaction, and cost performance.
  • Stakeholder and  Business Alignment
    • Act as the single point of contact for the product across business and IT stakeholders.
    • Collect, analyse, and prioritise business needs and user feedback.
    • Facilitate decision-making between business, IT and external partners; communicate roadmap, priorities and trade-offs transparently.
  • Backlog and Requirements Management
    • Own and maintain the product backlog, defining and prioritising epics, features and requirements based on business value.
    • Ensure requirements are clear, testable and understood by delivery teams; balance functional, non‑functional, regulatory and operational needs.
    • Identify and document the business value of IT requirements and arbitrate priorities with business sponsors.
  • Delivery and Execution
    • Collaborate with delivery teams (internal or external) to plan and deliver increments.
    • Support sprint planning, reviews and demonstrations as required.
    • Ensure delivered solutions meet business expectations and quality standards and validate outcomes with stakeholders and users.
  • Lifecycle, Operations and Continuous Improvement
    • Manage the product across its lifecycle from ideation to retirement.
    • Collaborate with support and operations to ensure stable and efficient run activities.
    • Identify improvement opportunities using usage data, incident reports and user feedback to optimise value, cost and experience.
  • Financial and Vendor Management
    • Support forecasting and budget tracking for the product and contribute to business cases and cost/benefit analyses.
    • Coordinate with vendors and service providers where applicable to secure delivery and operational support.
  • Communication and Reporting
    • Provide regular product status updates and reporting to stakeholders.
    • Prepare dashboards covering value, adoption, delivery progress and risks.
    • Lead or participate in Product Review and Steering meetings as required.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Owner, or in a similar role within an IT environment.
  • Strong understanding of software and IT product lifecycles and experience working with cross‑functional teams (business, IT and vendors).
  • Familiarity with agile and hybrid delivery models such as Scrum or SAFe.
  • Broad understanding of IT systems, applications, integrations and data flows; awareness of ITSM and delivery tools (e.g. ServiceNow, Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Knowledge of security, compliance and regulatory constraints relevant to enterprise IT.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritise based on value, risk and effort and to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Data‑driven decision‑making mindset, strong communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence without formal authority.
  • Structured, proactive and results‑oriented working style with the capacity to navigate complex organisational environments.
  • Desirable: background in Testing, Inspection and Certification (TIC) industry and/or Healthcare.
  • Desirable: prior experience in LIMS product development and deployment.
  • Fluent English
