Job Overview
Senior Java Developer (Insurance) - hybrid from Warsaw. The person in this role will join a software engineering team focused on developing and maintaining enterprise solutions for the insurance domain. The role requires advanced Java expertise, experience with related backend technologies, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid model from Warsaw.
Note: This is a hybrid collaboration model that requires presence in the Warsaw office for a minimum of one day a week.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain scalable backend services using Java and related frameworks.
- Collaborate with product owners, business analysts and cross-functional teams to translate insurance domain requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in code reviews, ensure code quality and promote best practices for testing and documentation.
- Identify and resolve performance, scalability and reliability issues in production and pre-production environments.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and support continuous improvement of development processes and tooling.
- Mentor and support junior developers, sharing knowledge and fostering professional growth within the team.
Qualifications
- Several years of professional experience in backend development with Java (Java 8+ preferred).
- Proficiency with Java frameworks and libraries commonly used in enterprise applications (for example Spring Boot).
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and related integration patterns.
- Familiarity with relational databases, SQL and ORM tools.
- Knowledge of testing strategies, unit and integration testing tools.
- Experience in the insurance domain is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills, clear communication and the ability to work collaboratively in distributed teams.
- Fluency in English sufficient for technical communication; additional language skills are a plus.
