Mid Full Stack Python/AI Developer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Mid Full Stack Python/AI Developer to join a newly formed cross-functional team focused on transforming underwriting operations with AI and cloud technologies. The person in this role will help design and deliver agent-driven systems and modern applications that support underwriters, working with technologies such as React/Next.js, Python/FastAPI, LangGraph/LangChain and Microsoft Azure services. This hybrid position (3 days in the office / 2 days remote) offers a pioneering opportunity to shape a new operational model through AI-driven automation and product innovation in a public cloud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the Underwriter OS application: frontend using Next.js/React and backend using FastAPI/Python.
  • Integrate AI agents with the application, extending orchestrators (e.g., LangChain/LangGraph) to coordinate agent execution.
  • Connect solutions with core business systems such as policy administration, rating engines, DMS, CRM, broker portal and Outlook.
  • Deploy and maintain applications on Azure using containers and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and orchestrate AI agents by converting underwriting guidelines into instructions for agents.
  • Build document-data extraction processes for broker documents and other incoming content.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in Data Science / AI, including a minimum of 1 year with production deployments.
  • Strong skills in React/Next.js and Python/FastAPI.
  • Experience with Azure services: Blob Storage, Document Intelligence, Azure AI Foundry / Azure OpenAI.
  • Familiarity with LangGraph or similar orchestration tools, prompt engineering and context engineering.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL and SQL.
  • Advanced Python knowledge (pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow) and practical MLOps experience (Azure ML, MLflow, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platform.
  • Awareness of AI governance requirements, including AI Act implications.
  • Degree in a technical field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a structured approach to problem solving, and the ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
  • Proactive attitude and readiness to take responsibility from concept through implementation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Azure AI Search and Power Platform.
  • Relevant Azure certifications (e.g., DP-100, AI-102, AI-900).
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and underwriting processes.
  • Experience with integration tools such as Kafka or ESB.
