Business Analyst (Insurance) - hybrid from Warsaw

Job Overview

The company is seeking a Business Analyst (Insurance) to support data and reporting initiatives. The person in this role will analyse business requirements and data, prepare functional specifications and project documentation, and collaborate with business users and development teams to design, test and implement data and reporting solutions. This role contributes to development and transformation projects within the data and reporting environment.

Note: This is a hybrid collaboration model that requires presence in the Warsaw office for a minimum of one day a week.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse business requirements and business processes to derive solution specifications.
  • Prepare analyses, functional specifications and project documentation for data and reporting solutions.
  • Collaborate with business users to define requirements for data and reporting solutions.
  • Perform analysis of large data volumes to support project delivery and testing activities.
  • Prepare test scenarios, test cases and expected results; participate in testing and validation.
  • Work with development teams during the design and implementation of data and reporting solutions.
  • Participate in projects focused on the development and transformation of the data and reporting environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of experience in business or system analysis within data, data warehousing or BI domains.
  • Proficiency in SQL sufficient for independent data analysis.
  • Experience working with large data volumes.
  • Experience preparing analytical documentation and requirement specifications.
  • Experience creating test scenarios and test cases.
  • Analytical thinking and ability to model business processes.
  • Ability to collaborate directly with business users to elicit and validate requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, particularly claims settlement, benefits or policy systems, is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with SAS (Enterprise Guide, 4GL, macros) is welcome.
  • Experience in data warehouse projects, data migrations or data architecture redesign is an asset.
