IT Delivery Manager

The IT Delivery Manager will be a key member of the IT Delivery Office accountable for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of retail-area business initiatives within the organisational “box” structures. The person in this role will work closely with IT teams and business stakeholders to ensure transparency, consistency and efficiency across delivery processes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely delivery of initiatives by IT teams operating within assigned box(es).
  • Support decision-making by providing reliable data, analysis and scenario-based recommendations, including assessment of associated consequences.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to adjust scope or delivery approach in order to meet timeline expectations, proposing creative and practical solutions.
  • Ensure that delivery activities align with the organisation’s strategic plans and priorities.
  • Coordinate activities within the IT Delivery Office and liaise with Box Owners, IT teams and the Business Strategy Office.
  • Collect, analyse and distribute information relating to: box delivery plans for the next four quarters, initiative status and delivery progress, box structure (team sizes, competencies, resource allocation), process metrics and performance indicators.
  • Contribute to optimising delivery processes and implementing recognised software delivery and portfolio-management practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years’ experience in a Delivery Manager, IT team manager or Technical Project Manager role with demonstrable track record of delivering projects and initiatives.
  • Proven ability to drive projects to completion and maintain high levels of internal motivation and accountability.
  • Ability to creatively reduce or reshape scope together with business partners and to influence technical teams toward alternative implementation approaches.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment.
  • Familiarity with project, portfolio and analytical tools (for example Jira, MS Project, Power BI).
  • Strong data analysis skills and the ability to draw conclusions that support business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of engaging diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and traditional waterfall approaches.
  • Desirable: experience in the banking sector.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment and manage multiple initiatives concurrently.
  • Proactive, autonomous and results-oriented approach.
  • Skill in building working relationships and fostering collaboration across varied stakeholder groups.
