System Architect

System Architect -  senior technical leader responsible for designing and delivering a new distributed microservices system for the insurance sector. The person in this role will define system architecture, establish technical standards, support development and deployment activities, and ensure operational resilience and security. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Design the architecture for a completely new insurance-domain system and produce comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Build the system from the ground up within a distributed microservices architecture; perform hands-on development (agentic coding) as required.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies and implementation assumptions to support system development decisions.
  • Set the technical direction, maintain technology standards, and ensure the quality of delivered code.
  • Estimate development and architectural effort and determine required resources for project tasks.
  • Assign development tasks, oversee implementation activities, conduct code reviews, and produce technical documentation.
  • Ensure operational requirements and security controls are met in delivered solutions.
  • Provide programming support during development, deployment, and stabilization phases.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience working in the insurance domain.
  • At least 5 years of experience in system design and architectural oversight.
  • Strong practical knowledge of Java and Spring.
  • Proven ability to design scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant distributed architectures.
  • Deep familiarity with architectural patterns and integration best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure automation.
  • Demonstrated capability to perform code reviews, provide mentorship, and lead architectural workshops.
  • Experience contributing to technology roadmaps and performing risk assessments.
  • End-to-end observability experience.
  • Practical knowledge of API governance and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
  • Experience with event-driven architectures.
  • English language proficiency at or above B2 level.
  • Availability to work in a hybrid model from Warsaw.

Preferred (nice to have)

  • Experience with Agentic SDLC.
  • Involvement in multi-cloud strategy implementation.
  • Advanced practical application of DDD.
  • Awareness of cloud cost management.
  • Participation in defining organisational technology standards.
